Egyptian Coach Javier Aguirre initially named a 25-man provisional squad for the tournament, but has dropped two stars in Mohamed Abou-Gabal and Ahmed Aboul-Fetouh, both of whom play for Egyptian club Smouha.
The final squad includes three Premier League stars- Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny and Ahmed Elmohamady.
Elmohamady, who is the most experienced player in the team with 86 caps under his belt, was named the team’s captain by Aguirre.
The seven-time AFCON winners have been placed in Group A alongside DR Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe, with their first match against Zimbabwe on 21 June.
