Super Eagles unbeaten run against teams from Africa ended yesterday after a 1-0 defeat suffered at the Hands of the Teranga Lions of Senegal.
Nigeria’s 2-0 defeat to South Africa in 2017 was the last time Gernot Rohr’s side were beaten by a team from Africa.
The only goal of the game was scored on the 18th minute by Everton’s Idrissa Gueye who handed the Teranga Lions a rare win against the Super Eagles, their first in 17 years.
The game on Sunday evening was played behind closed as agreed by both National team Coaches.
The Super Eagles will today leave Ismaila for Alexandria, where they are to play all their group B matches.
